Gold-mining stocks sell off sharply

The S&P/TSX Global Gold Index /quotes/zigman/23271 XX:TTGD -5.04% , which primarily includes Canadian gold mining companies, fell 5.3%, as shares of Barrick Gold /quotes/zigman/12792 CA:ABX -4.90% /quotes/zigman/12772/quotes/nls/abx ABX -4.80% dropped 4.6% in Toronto and Goldcorp Inc. /quotes/zigman/22920 CA:G -4.38% [S: GG] dropped 4.3%.
