Newcrest Mining boss Ian Smith is selling his historic Brighton mansion. Source: HWT Image Library NEWCREST mining executive Ian Smith is expecting his historic Brighton home to sell for $6 million. Smith and wife Debbie moved into "Totnes", a 119-year-old home at 36 Middle Crescent, five years ago. The house has undergone major renovations, updating the four-bedroom, two-bathroom property. The Smiths are not moving far, however, having bought another Brighton property, which again needs some love and care. "We've got another project, which will take a bit of work and there are times when I wonder if we should go down this path again," Mrs Smith said. High on the agenda is an indoor pool. "We both need to get fit and, in truth, it's just not going to happen any other way," Mrs Smith said. Buxton Brighton's Brian Devlin is the agent.
